I miss my Aaron!

My sweet husband has been out of town working in Santa Barbara on a job. Aaron and I have only been away from eachother for over a night only once since we've been married and that time I left him to go see my parents. This time he had to leave me and it was quite a bit harder to get used to. So I've been trying to keep myself busy by doing different thing. This includes scrubbing baseboards and cleaning windows, things I wouldn't normally do on a daily basis. So, today I went to the beach and took pictures. :)

This picture is kind of a joke. Someone had spray painted a shark fin on the caution sign and I thought it was hilarious. So I came home, did a little photoshop and this what I got...get it "STOP shark!"

Emily thought it was a great idea to play in the tide pools WITH HER SHOES ON!

She LOVED the swing! she actually threw a tantrum when we had to leave and I took her out!

My goofball!

I have one more day and HOPEFULLY one more night before my hubby comes back home to me and I won't have to keep trying to keep myself rediculously busy. But I am going to take pictures of my baby Reid to. more. ROOOOOW! yay!

for my daddy

Today was a pretty mellow day, but my dad says that I need to post every little thing that happens during the day. At one point he even wanted me set up a camera in the living room and let it the camera roll all day just so he could see what she does 24/7. So I went ahead and took a couple of pictures today anyway just to show my dad. :)

I brought Reggie in the house to play for a while and he was AMAZING with her. I've got two babies here with about the same mental age. Both in there toddler stage, both not knowing the damage that they could do to eachother. I felt like a hawk watching them. When I finally put Reggie back outside they had both had tallied one spanking each. Here's some pictures:

REGGIE KISSES

I have raised amazing children, they all look at the camera and smile!

REGGIE SMILE with his black spots on his tongue, that's a sign of intelligence right?

He loves his Emily

I didn't know at the time but Emily was actually choking him to death, hence the look on his face like "help *cough cough* me"

After playing with Reggie she got to have her favorite time of the day, bathtime!

She got in a fight with the towel

And of course after playing hard, a nap. I love her lips! she looks just like her dad when she sleeps. They often sleep in the same position; sprawled out, fighting for the most space on the bed. Oh! and if you look close dad, she has a new freckle on her forehead. :) Hope this pacifies you for now daddy. Love you!

My new lens

Last night Aaron made me an amazing dinner. As most of you know I brag about the fact that my husband is just short of a gourmet chef. I'm so spoiled. And anyone who knows me will know I AM NOT a cook, we are perfect for eachother! I on the other hand am a failure to my family because both of my grandmas were AMAZING cooks...somewhere along the line that gene got skipped. My only hope is that I'm still a carrier and Emily will be blessed with the skills that I should have AND the skills that Aaron does have. He even bought us a bottle of late harvest wine to go with dinner! I got this new lens to play around with for fun and I decided to take a picture of the bottle our wine came in and I think they turned out pretty neat.

notice the depth of field!

After dinner I took my camera outside just to play around and I was AMAZED at what I could do just playing around! This is our front yard, it even picked up the color of the grass from just the faint light from one of the distant houses. This was done in the dead of night (I couldn't see Aaron standing next to me) at f/1.8, wide open for 30 seconds.

This next one was just shot straight up at the sky with the same settings as the one above...if I zoomed in on some of the bigger stars you could see galaxies in some of them. It's just amazing how much out eyes can't pick up but that the camera could.

I'm looking forward to getting to play more tomorrow!!!

One sad blog...

I originally wanted this to be happy blog. I wanted to put pictures of my little munchy up here for everyone to see and coo over and pictures that I took of miscellaneous things that will eventually contribute to my portfolio. But then I decide that this is MY blog. MY blog to get things out and to let people know who I am and what my life is like more than anything. So, with that said, hopefully this is the only sad blog I will have to post...EVER.

As most of my close family knows I just recently found out I was pregnant, again. I know, BIG surprise to us, but unfortunately we only got a few short hours to celebrate before I began the process of a miscarriage.

 THIS was my little tadpole:

I believe that life begins at the point of conception. Therefore even though my little tadpoles heart was in the process of beginning to beat for the first time, to me it was still the loss of a child.

With all that said, I am doing okay and this IS NOT for sympathy.  My brain is controlled by logic (thanks mom and dad) and not emotion. I KNOW that God has a reason for everything that he does. I have had great help and support and a very wise woman told me "God will only give you what he believes that you can handle, and even though it doesn't make it any easier, maybe this was Gods way of protecting you." She was right. All research that I have done tells me that the reason for first trimester loss's is due to chromosomal abnormalities. God was protecting me! and knowing that makes me know that God is looking out for Aaron and I. and with that being known, it makes all this a whole lot easier.

My heart goes out to everyone who has ever had to deal with the loss of a child, whether at 5 weeks pregnant, childbirth, or at the age of 18, but know that whatever the reason, God is looking after you and it is part of his ultimate plan!

Rub a dub dub

So my mother in law, in her infinite wisdom...actually I remove the sarcasm from that, because it actually was a genius idea, bought my daughter bathtub crayons. And thinking along the same lines as a new grandmother would, she knew she wouldn't have to clean up the mess.

Now the reason that I say that it was a genius idea is because my daughter is a WATER MONKEY. I have no idea where she got it from because quite honestly I didn't like to swim until my father allowed me to wear a two-piece bathing suit, and even then it wasn't really about the swimming.  Aaron does like to go to the lake and wakeboard and go to the beach and try to surf, but I wouldn't say he LOVES the water. I swear if Emily could sprout gills she WOULD live in the water. So with that said, the only time that I have to get ready in the mornings is the time from when I get out of the shower and she stays in to play in the tub. "This would be the perfect time to give her her crayons!", I thought to myself. "I might even get to do my hair!" and then squealed inside.

WELL this is what I got:

I GOT ART! on all four sides of my bathtub

YEP she was proud!

So Aaron came in and couldn't find me. Guess where I was...YEP in the bathtub with Comet cleanser cleaning up my daughters beautiful artwork that, yep you guessed it again, IS NOT so easy to clean up as the box might lead you to believe. He thought it was hilarious and snapped a picture.

As I'm writing this blog my Emily was being rediculously quiet. I should have known by the year and a half of consistant experience that SILENCE=TROUBLE. Turns out she was just putting her new found artistic skills to use:

Looks like it's back to the now clean bathtub for another bath! Maybe that was her plan all along.....

And so it begins...

So I figured this was a appropriate day to begin this blog. I have several friends who do it for business and some who just do it for fun. Now, given I don't have my own business (hopefully in the near future) or 3 rambunctious boys that keep me busy 24/7. I do have one amazing husband and one perfect daughter (who, I believe, keeps me about as sane as 3 rambunctious boys would) that I believe the world needs to know about.

So I woke up and did some laundry today a this is how Emily decided to help...

yep...that's my CLEAN underwear around her head. and boy was she proud!

Later that day, I found a present for her and thought it would make a nice photoshoot.

A LADYBUG!

AND THEN SHE ATE IT!!

HA! just kidding about the eating part. It flew off and now I have a ladybug on the loose in my house. But she did learn a new word "a boogy" like buggy :) She's so smart!

I went to go meet a friend for a little while and this is what I came home to (this is Aaron's famous "she was only in there for a second")

YEP! not only one pair of underwear but just about every CLEAN pair I own. That's her guilty look too. Aaron snapped this picture right before I walked in and take a wild guess at who got to clean up the mess...
